About us
Where It All Began
Shekinah Charitable Trust was birthed with passion to do something for the people who are oppressed, orphaned or needy. Informally we started executing our vision in 2015 by helping the widows with a monthly support and poor children in their education. Then, we came across people who shared same vision; we systematically and authentically started Shekinah Charitable Trust in February, 2017.
Providing support to children, widows showing them love and saving each soul is what we work towards. We as a team are burdened to reach out to those who are in desperate need, and are not being cared for. We are constantly on a look out for the needs of the society and unwaveringly jump in when the need arises

About
What we do?
Tuition
We take tuition in the rural areas of Chennai where many children with no basic help are struggling with their education. Many even drop out from school to start earning for the family at their very young age. We believe in encouraging education which is the fundamental for the excelling of future generation. Creating confidence among poor for their better future, eradicating illiteracy and provide quality education is our focus.
Skill Orientation Programme
We started tailoring institute in the year 2018 which is helping many women to be self employed and help them with small scale job opportunities. We also conduct awareness programmes among the tribal communities and concentrate on rural villages for community development
Providing the needy
Since 2017, we have been giving school necessities to the children at the beginning of every school academic year. We have been actively helping widows and those who are unemployed/homeless and have no support from family
Medical Camps
We have a special department with doctors to help the poor with free medical check-ups and conducting medical camps frequently in different places
Pandemic Support
During COVID-19 we have been doing relief work by reaching COVID affected families with medical kits and oximeters, directing patients to reach hospitals, providing provision to the people in rural areas who lost their livelihood and by providing food to the homeless and people without even a proper meal
